【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthepreparation,handling,testing,andprocedureforusingtheethanol-chlorobenzenedosimetrysystemtomeasureabsorbeddoseinmaterialsirradiatedbyphotonsandelectronsintermsofabsorbeddoseinwater.Thesystemconsistsofadosimeterandappropriateanalyticalinstrumentation.Forsimplicity,thesystemwillbereferredtoastheECBsystem.Itisclassifiedasareferencestandarddosimeter(seeGuideE1261).ThispracticedescribesthetitrationanalysisasastandardreadoutprocedurefortheECBdosimeter.Otherapplicablereadoutmethods(spectrophotometric,oscillo-metric)aredescribedinAppendixesX1andX2.Thispracticeappliesonlytogammarays,Xrays,andhigh-energyelectrons.Thispracticeappliesprovidedthefollowingaresatis-fied:Theabsorbeddoserangeshallbefrom10Gyto2MGy(1).Theabsorbeddoseratedoesnotexceed10Gys(2).Forradionuclidegamma-raysources,theinitialphotonenergyshallbegreaterthan0.6MeV.Forbremsstrahlungphotons,theinitialenergyoftheelectronsusedtoproducethebremsstrahlungphotonsshallbeequaltoorgreaterthan2MeV.Forelectronbeams,theinitialelectronenergyshallbegreaterthan4MeV(seeICRUReports34and35).Note1—Thelowerlimitsofelectromagneticradiationenergygivenareappropriateforacylindricaldosimeterampouleof12-mradiameter.Correctionsfordosegradientsacrossanampouleofthatdiameterorlessarenotrequired.TheECBsystemmaybeusedatenergiesofincidentelectronslowerthan8MeVbyemployingthinner(inthebeamdirection)dosimetercontainers(seeICRUReport35).Theirradiationtemperatureofthedosimetershouldbewithintherangefrom-40℃to80℃.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappro-priatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplica-bilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
