【摘要】:Therejectionofmaterialsduetocolorisacommonandexpensiveoccurrence,anditisusefulforacustomerandproducertosetacolorspecificationwithanassociatedtolerancebeforethetransaction.ThisguidediscussestheconceptanddetailstheASTMstandardstobeusedintheprocess.1.1Thisguideleadstheuserthroughtheprocessforsettingacolortoleranceforaproductormaterial.ItpointstotheappropriateASTMstandardsthataffecteachstepoftheprocess.Itincludesthediscussionpointsonwhichthetwopartiesmustagreeandprovidescaveatsforvariousoptionsselected.1.2Thisguidedoesnotsuggestnumericalvaluesfortolerances.Thesevaluesmustbeagreeduponbythetwopartiesinvolved.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
